I made it.

Well, I got in this evening, found a room with Chrisophe who I met on the Bus from the airport. I may meet up with him again tomorrow but I don't know his plans.

I made it safely and the trip was pretty good. Finding a room was no trouble but I will move somewhere cheaper and nicer tomorrow. I just went out for a beer and some food this evening, I need to get up early tomorrow for sight seeing. I may go to the palace and try to find a sim card for my phone.

Packing!

Well, I just finished packing my bag I think. It seems very empty, I have a bunch of extra room at the top of my bag which makes me feel like I have forgotten something.

I think I just need a mirror for shaving with and I will be set.

I have no clue how to set up my bag and as a result it is not very comfortable to wear. I have a second bag as well to use as carry on and for day trips etc. I think this will be a pain when I am moving all of my stuff around because two rucksacks will obviously be awkward to carry. I am hoping that my small bag will fit inside my main one when it is required.

I also have no way of locking my bag which is less than ideal. I think I may have to pick up one of those metal net jobs at vast expense if I can find them at the airport =[.

I am suitably scared about flying out tomorrow. I am sure I have forgotten something but should be able to pick most things up in Bangkok when I arrive.

Apparently you can pick up a sim card for just a few pounds out there and call the UK for as little as 1p a minute so I will try to get hold of one of those a.s.a.p.

Hello, blog

Well, I set this blog up a few weeks ago now so it is about time to start posting as I leave in just 5 days!

I have almost all of my kit now, I just need some shoes/boots to go walking in.

I have not made any real plans yet apart from get on the plane on the 30th. I have no accomadation booked, I am just going to go for it. I don't think it will be a problem at all, I have spoken to loads of people who easily found somewhere to stay on thier first night with no prior planning.

My brief outline is to leave Bangkok and travel south first, through Malaysia and into Singapore. Then go back up the other coast to north Thailand and across to Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. From there I will briefly return to Bangkok to catch a flight to Hong Kong and meet up with Johnny and a few other people I know from the area. Then explore a bit of China, I am really exited to see the Li River which is not too far from Hong Kong!
